Car rear-ends ATV driving without lights; Noel teen seriously injured

An ATV driving without lights fingered as the cause of a wreck on Missouri 59 about a mile south of Noel Thursday evening.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says a 69-year-old man from Noel was operating a passenger car that smashed into the back of a Ray-Tech ATV operated by a 14-year-old boy from Noel.

Neither driver had insurance.

The teen was taken to Freeman West Hospital in Joplin with serious injuries.
