Crash near Granby claims life of Pierce City man

A crash on Highway 60, just west of Granby, has claimed the life of a man from Pierce City Monday evening.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says it happened around 7pm when a car tried to pass an “uninvolved tractor trailer” on a hillcrest, just as a semi was coming over the hill from the opposite direction.

The car tried to avoid the semi by swerving left, but ended up hitting them head-on.

The passenger in the car, Shawn McCamish, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the car, 19-year-old Nathanial McCamish, suffered serious injuries and was rushed to a Springfield hospital.
