Truck goes off road, hits three trees in Barry County; two people seriously injured

Two people were seriously injured in an accident on Farm Road 1065 five miles east of Purdy in Barry County at about 12:15 Friday afternoon.

The Highway Patrol says a northbound 2010 Nissan Frontier driven by 41-year-old Jason L. Bass of Aurora drove off the left side of the highway and struck three trees.

Bass was seriously injured. He was taken to Mercy-Springfield.

His occupant, 23-year-old Cassidty J. Chase of Republic was also seriously injured.

She was transported to Cox-South Hospital in Springfield.
