Six-year-old seriously injured in ATV accident near Carthage

A juvenile was taken by  air to a Springfield hospital following an  ATV accident on Dispatch Road, two miles south of Carthage around 9:30 p.m. Saturday night.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the six-year-old juvenile male was driving the westbound Zheiang ATV when the vehicle struck a concrete driveway ejecting him.

He was wearing a safety device.

The child was seriously injured.

He was transported by Medflight to Mercy Hospital in Springfield.
