Setting the property tax levy for the City of Joplin.
That will be the subject of a public meeting Monday night in City Council Chambers.
Right now, citizens with homes valued at $100,000 pay about 42 cents, about $80 a year.
That includes 17 and half cents per $100 of assessed valuation along with a city library tax of 24 cents.
The state requires a public hearing every year but proposals call for no increase for 2024.
Property tax bills go out in Missouri in about two months.
The meetings, which starts at 6 p.m. Monday night is open to the public.
