"Council in the Park" proposal on Joplin city council meeting agenda

Part of Monday’s Joplin city council meeting will be the “Council in the Park” proposal.

What is it?

Joplin Mayor Keenan Cortez tells Newstalk KZRG:

“When you elect people to office, you should be able to have access. We should be able to sit down and have formal and informal conversations with them. So this is an effort that we're going to put on by the city, to try to get those people that voted for you and put them in office, out into the public so that you can see them.  You can talk to them. You can talk to them about kitchen table items or you can talk to them about the bigger picture of what's going on in our community.”
