Take advantage of cooling center as needed

Summer is in full swing and the temperatures are approaching dangerous levels.

Remember to take advantage of cooling centers throughout the area as needed.  

The cooling centers open up if the National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for three consecutive days or if the NWS issues a heat warning at any time.  

The cooling centers are located at Joplin City Hall – first floor, 602 S. Main; Joplin Health Dept., 321 E 4th St.; Dr. Donald Clark Public Safety Center, 303 E. 3rd St.; and Joplin Athletic Center, 3301 W. 1st St.
