Tragic accident claims life of Riverton man

A man from Riverton, Kansas, was killed in a tragic accident Wednesday afternoon.
The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office says around 4:30pm, emergency personnel were dispatched to a single-vehicle fatality on private property between Riverton and Galena.
Their initial investigation found that 63-year-old Tyrone Palmer was loading trash into his trash truck, when the truck went into gear and ran him over.
Palmer was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Next of kin have been notified.
