Are you in need of a medical checkup?

Area seniors will have the unique opportunity to receive a springtime health check-up between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. on Wednesday the 29th during the annual Freeman Advantage Health & Resource Fair, a one-shop stop for health-related resources and information.

This public event is also an opportunity for residents to meet with Freeman providers and receive much-needed preventative guidance.

The event takes place at the Freeman Business Center Conference Room at 3220 McClelland Blvd.

Freeman Screen Team will provide basic health screenings for $10 during this event. They’ll also provide other screening options for purchase. If you want to participate in any of the screening options, you will need to fast for eight hours.

A Dementia and Alzheimer’s presentation will take place at 9:00 am. There will also be a driving simulator that replicates dawn and dusk conditions, which can be challenging for senior drivers.

The event is more than just screenings and tests, however. The come-and-go event features informative presentations, interactive booths, giveaways, drawings for door prizes and a free breakfast.

Freeman Advantage is a medical, education and social program for those over the age of 50, who can receive a lifetime membership for just $20. Activities include walking and bowling groups that meet three times a week, exercise classes, game days, book club, day trips and extended travel opportunities. Advantage currently has 3,000-plus members.
