Baxter Police Chief Henderson to run for Cherokee County Sheriff

Another candidate has announced his intention to run for the spot soon to be vacated by Cherokee County Sheriff David Groves.

That candidate is Baxter Springs Police Chief Brian Henderson.

Henderson spent over twenty years as a Joplin Police officer.

Cherokee County Chief Deputy Nate Jones also says he plans to run for the position.

Groves announced recently he would step down as Sheriff after 15 years to explore opportunities outside of law enforcement in the private sector.
