Company plans to open a new manufacturing plant in southeast Missouri

Southeast Missouri’s Jackson is on tap to get a future factory that makes wooden framework for the construction industry.

A news release from the state says Trussworks is investing five-million dollars in the project.

Construction will begin as soon as possible, with operations expected to begin later this year.

For the expansion, Cape Girardeau County will give the plant a 50-percent real property tax reduction for ten years.

The state will give the company access to funding through withholdings or tax credits for job creation.

The expansion is also being supported by a 787-thousand dollar community development block grant.
