One person detained after Miami shooting

Officers with the Miami, Okla. Police Department report a fatal shooting yesterday [Friday] afternoon near the intersection of 2nd and H NW.

"We have one person detained and do not feel there is a continued threat to the community," a police spokesperson said.

The area in question was temporarily blocked off from traffic and citizens were asked to avoid the area Friday evening.

The Oklahoma  State Bureau of Investigation is reportedly involved in the investigation
