Escaped inmate back in custody in Fort Scott

An escaped inmate in southeast Kansas is back in custody.

The Bourbon County Sheriff's Office says 54-year-old Melvin Ray Foley escaped from custody Wednesday morning around 10am.

He was found just after 10:30am. The circumstances of how he escaped are unclear at this time but he is back in custody in Fort Scott.
