One-vehicle accident in Lawrence County injures driver

An accident on M-39 about three miles south of Miller in Lawrence County injured a man from Mt. Vernon just after 7 Monday night.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the wreck happened when a northbound passenger car driven by 24-year-old Derak B. Russell of Mt. Vernon traveled off the roadway and overturned.
Russell, who was not wearing a safety device, was seriously injured.
He was taken by ambulance to Cox South Hospital in Springfield.
