Accident in Airport Drive injures three

Three people were injured in a Friday evening crash on Route 171 inside Airport Drive.

The Highway Patrol says it happened just after 5 p.m. when a northbound vehicle driven by 81-year-old Marian H. Speer of Carl Junction, turned into the path and struck the front of a southbound vehicle driven by 58-year-old Robert J. Rall of Webb City.

Speer, Rall and a passenger in Rall's car, 56-year-old Denise L. Bennett of Webb City, all had moderate injuries.

The Patrol says none of the three were wearing safety devices.

They were transported to Joplin hospitals for treatment.
