Seneca issues boil order following waterline break

UPDATE: The boil order has been lifted, as of Thursday afternoon.

A boil order has been issued for patrons in part of the Seneca, Missouri water system.

Paul Carver, Water Operator, said the order affects all connections including Washington Avenue and points south.

The boil order was issued due to a break in the main water line.

He says all water used for cooking, drinking and brushing teeth should be boiled prior to use.

Carver said the water is safe to use for purposes that don't involve ingestion.

After the line is repaired, water samples will be sent to the State of Missouri for testing.

When the state gives the all-clear to city officials, the boil order will be lifted, probably later this week.
