Accident on Missouri 171 injures two drivers

Two people were injured in a accident just after 3 a.m. Saturday morning on Missouri Route 171, about 2 miles north of Asbury.

The Missouri State Highway Patrols says the accident occurred when a westbound 2017 Hyundai Sonata driven by 34-year-old Horace A. Kennedy of Wichita failed to stop at a stop sign and hit the driver's side of a southbound 2022 Kenworth Tractor-Trailer driven by 34-year-old Brian H. Beeman of Conway, Arkansas.

Kennedy was transported to a Joplin hospital with moderate injuries. Beeman suffered minor injuries and went by private vehicle to a Springfield hospital.
