Latest Missouri drought conditions

The latest U.S. drought monitor map shows a slight improvement in Missouri’s drought conditions over the previous week. 

Precipitation moved Missouri out of the exceptional drought category for the first time in several weeks. 

94-percent of Missouri is still experiencing dry conditions, while 20-percent is under extreme drought. 

Missouri had a mix of improvements and worsening drought as the northern and southern regions saw drought expansion and intensification, while the central and southeastern portions saw widespread improvement, according to the drought monitor. 

The Missouri Division of Fire Safety reminds residents to avoid activities that could spark a fire.
