Speed and alcohol reportedly were factors in a grinding multiple-vehicle crash in Springfield around 7 a.m. Saturday morning.

A car driven by a juvenile smashed into a vehicle driven by a 37-year-old man at Kansas Expressway and Sunshine Avenue intersection.

Three other vehicles were also involved.

The 37-year-old driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

That person's name has not yet been released.

It was the 15th fatality accident so far this year in Springfield.
