Have a safe Memorial Day weekend

The holiday weekend is here, and everyone has vacation on their mind.

Memorial Day Weekend is the unofficial kickoff to summer and the Missouri State Highway Patrol wants you to be able to enjoy this holiday weekend safely and responsibly.

Expect more travelers on the roadways and an increase in boating traffic on the state’s lakes and rivers.

Drivers and boat operators are reminded to follow state laws and be courteous.

In addition, buckle up when you are traveling in a vehicle and wear a life jacket when near, on, or in the water.

The Memorial Day holiday enforcement period begins at 6:00 p.m. this evening and runs through 11:59 p.m., Monday, May 29.
