Man from Springfield arrested on active warrants

On Thursday, March 17 at approximately 4:39 a.m., a Jasper County Deputy stopped a vehicle for driving at a high rate of speed on Interstate 44 in Jasper County.

During the traffic stop, Jeremy Whitcher, 41, of Springfield, Missouri, was arrested on active warrants.

Incident to arrest, a vehicle search was done, and a clear plastic baggie containing approximately 117 grams of
suspected methamphetamine was located underneath the driver's seat.

Whitcher was transported to the Jasper County Detention Center, and charges were submitted for possession with the intent to distribute a controlled substance to the Jasper County Prosecutor's Office for review.
