Child accidentlly shoots himself in arm

An unnamed child accidentally shot himself in the arm Sunday.   

The Green County Sheriff’s Office said the shooting took place in rural Rogersville near Springfield.  

According to deputies, the child thought the gun was unloaded because the magazine was out of the gun.  

There was a bullet in the chamber.  

The child was treated and released from an area hospital.
