One man was injured in a crash between a motorized scooter and a pickup in Joplin at 10:22 Monday morning.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident took place when a motorized scooter operated by 27-year old Johnathan W. Hale of Springfield failed to stop at a stop sign at Schifferdecker Ave. and Crow Road about 1/2 mile south of Joplin.

The scooter hit a pickup driven by 17-year-old Joshua L. Horton of Joplin.

Hale suffered serious injuries and was taken by EMS to Freeman Hospital in Joplin.

Horton was not injured.
