Driver from Carthage seriously injured in Saturday night crash

A man from Carthage who was involved in a serious one-vehicle accident in Fidelity Saturday night has been placed under arrest by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The Patrol says the accident occurred around 9:10 p.m. Saturday night when a northbound 2015 Dodge Journey driven by 40-year-old Cory Buerge of Carthage ran off the Garrison Avenue and struck two trees.

Following the accident, Buerge was charged with Felony DWI and Felony Driving While Revoked.

Buerge received serious injuries and was transported to a Joplin hospital for treatment.
