Teenage driver injured in Stone County accident

A single car accident around 4:45 a.m. Saturday morning in Stone County caused serious injuries to a teenage driver.

The Missouri State Highway patrol says the 17-year-old male from Crane was driving on Highway A about a mile west of Hurley, Missouri when his car went off the left side of the roadway, hit a tree and overturned.

The patrol says he was not wearing a safety device at the time of the accident.

His name is not being released due to his age.

He was transported by air to Cox South Hospital in Springfield.
