Woman seriously injured in Barry County accident

An accident on a farm road two miles northeast of Purdy around 10:30 Sunday morning resulted in serious injuries to a woman from that community.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred after 46-year-old Kimberly A. Clay suffered an apparent medical issue.

The Patrol says that issue caused her vehicle to travel off the right side of the road and hit a tree.

Clay was taken by air ambulance to Cox South Hospital  in Springfield.

An occupant in the vehicle, 59-year-old Terry R. Clay of Purdy, suffered minor injuries and was transported by EMS to the same hospital.
