Fire in vacant house acted on swiftly by Joplin firefighters

The Joplin Fire Department tells NewsTalk KZRG a fire this morning at 1309 S. Jackson took place in a vacant house.

That address is on the west side of the city not far from Junge Stadium.

Firefighters were reportedly called just after six a.m. to the report of smoke rising from the structure.

It only took about 15 minutes to put out.

No members of the public or first responders were injured.

The cause is under investigation.
