Car goes off U.S. 65, overturns several times; two women ejected

A one-vehicle accident took place on U.S. 65 about a mile south of Ozark around 6 a.m. Friday morning.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says it happened when a southbound passenger car went off the left side of the road, overcorrected, then went off the left side of the road again.

The car then crossed the median into the northbound lanes, traveled off the roadway again and overturned several times, ejecting two occupants.

19-year-old Miranda Lopez and 20-year-old Allison Barboza, both of Branson, received serious injuries.

They were taken to Cox South hospital in Springfield.

The Patrol says troopers still do not known which of the women was operating the vehicle at the time of the accident.
