I-49 accident causes serious injuries to man from Carthage

A one-vehicle accident on I-49, about three miles south of Carthage has resulted in injuries to a man from that city.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when a northbound vehicle operated by 19-year-old Wyatt A. Watson of Carthage traveled off the left side of the highway and overturned.

The accident happened around 1:35 a.m. this morning.

Watson suffered serious injuries.

He was transported to a Joplin hospital for treatment.
