Property tax bills expected to increase in Jasper County

An official from Jasper County informed taxpayers to expect their upcoming tax bill to be higher than usual.

According to the county, vehicle owners will see a higher charge when they get their property tax bill next week. This may come as a surprise to some but others saw it coming. Missouri property tax is adjusted with the value of property and due to supply chain issues some property has risen in value.

Lisa Perry the Jasper Co. Assessor said, “Due to the short supply of new vehicles – the used vehicles are higher in value. Just like everything else, there’s an increase thanks to the pandemic”

Those 2022 taxes are due by December 31st and can be paid online, by mail, or in person.
