Former Chiefs Assistant Coach to be Sentenced Friday For DWI Crash

Prosecutors in Kansas City want a Jackson County judge to sentence Britt Reid to four years in prison for a D-W-I crash that injured four children.

Reid is a former assistant coach for the Kansas City Chiefs and is the son of head coach Andy Reid.

Britt Reid pleaded guilty to felony D-W-I causing serious physical injury in the 2021 crash, which left a then 5-year-old girl with a traumatic brain injury.

His sentencing hearing is scheduled Friday.

While prosecutors are asking that Reid get four years, the victims’ family wanted seven and are not happy with the deal.

It’s also possible that he could receive only 120 days in jail and 5 years’ probation.
