Hartville, Missouri celebrated Wednesday Sept. 21 as "Center of U-S population"

Today, officials with the Census Bureau and NOAA (the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) are in the small town of Hartville, Missouri - to mark it as the nation's new center of population.  

Hartville  -- population 594 --- is the county seat of Wright County in Southern Missouri.

The celebration begins at 4:30 this afternoon.
