First deer hunting season underway in Missouri

Hunting season is underway in Missouri.
Missouri's 2020-21 season ended in January of this year with over 293,000 deer harvested.
In all, 143,049 were antlered bucks, 26,599 were button bucks and 124,022 were does, according to MDC.
That harvest total was slightly behind last year’s mark and about 3% above the previous five-year average. .
The new season for Missouri has already started. Deer Archery season officially began late last week and runs through Nov. 11.

Hunters who are 15 years or younger on Sept. 15, 2022, are exempt from the antler-point restriction during the archery deer season and all portions of the firearms deer season.
To participate, you must be at least 6 and no older than 15 on the opening day of the early youth portion.
