Joplin Police arrest man suspected of stabbing a woman

On August 19, 2022, at approximately 12:04 AM the Joplin Police Department Emergency Communications Center received a call of stabbing at 905 E. 5th Street.

Officers responded and located one adult female victim who was transported to a local hospital with multiple stab wounds. She is currently in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries. On August 19, 2022, at approximately 9:26 AM officers located the suspect near the area of 7th Street and School Avenue where he was taken into custody without incident.

Charges have been submitted for 1st Degree Assault to the Jasper County Prosecutor’s Office. Suspect is identified as Nathanial Seward, 23 years of age of Joplin, MO.
