Mt. Vernon teen killed in tractor-trailer accident

A 16-year-old boy from Mt. Vernon, Missouri, was killed after a tractor-trailer accident Wednesday morning.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says it happened on Route UU, seven miles northwest of Mount Vernon, when the 2012 International LF687 truck the boy was driving went off the road and overturned.

The Highway Patrol report does not identify the victim or his 14-year-old passenger, who suffered moderate injuries.
