Strike Avoided After Boeing, Union Workers Reach Agreement

There won’t be a strike, after all.

Union workers at Boeing’s three St. Louis-area plants have accepted a revised contract offer:

According to the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, the new contract includes a 14 percent wage increase over three years, an eight-thousand-dollar bonus that can be deferred to an employee’s 401-K account, and no changes to existing health insurance plans.

Twenty-five hundred I-A-M workers voted Wednesday on the revised offer.

The St. Louis-area plants produce F-15 and F-18 fighter jets for the Air Force and Navy, respectively.
