4-Year Anniversary Of Tragic Duck Boat Sinking

Tuesday marks the four-year anniversary of the sinking of a duck boat on Table Rock Lake near Branson that killed 17 people.

Thirty-one people were onboard the vessel operated by Ride the Ducks when severe thunderstorms rolled through the area on July 19th, 2018, stirring up waves high enough to flood the boat and cause it to capsize.

Seventeen people died, including the boat driver and nine members of the same family.

The tragedy was followed by both lawsuits and criminal charges.

On April Fifth of this year, a Stone County judge dismissed more than 60 criminal charges against three duck boat employees on duty when the boat sank -- two days later those charges were refiled.
