Crash claims the life of Joplin man

A man from Joplin is dead after a two-vehicle accident that happened Sunday afternoon.

The Missouri State Highway Patrols says the accident happened at 4 PM, when 25-year-old Jonathan D. Beavers' Kia Soul crossed the centerline of Coyote Drive, just north of I-44, and hit another vehicle.

Beavers was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the second vehicle, 47-year-old Melody S. Kelly, of Seneca, suffered serious injuries.

A 14-year-old in her car suffered moderate injuries.
