Independence woman ID'd amid death investigation

The Independence, Kansas, Police Department has identified 46-year-old Ruby Bowers of Independence as the deceased located in the 300 block of E. Myrtle on Monday.

Shortly after 5:44 pm Monday, IPD Officers responded to a report of a person down in the 300 block of E. Myrtle.  On arrival, they located an unknown female deceased.  She was later identified as Bowers.

The investigation into her exact cause of death is ongoing. 

At this time, foul play is not suspected
