Standoff in Crawford County ends with arrest of Asbury man

There was a brief standoff near Pittsburg today.
Crawford County Sheriff Danny Smith says a man forced his way inside a residence at 1036 E. 530th Ave. just before noon today and secured a knife from the kitchen.
The man, identified as 56-year-old Danny Wayne Pruett of Asbury, then asked the resident of the home to shoot him.
After a standoff, officers employed pepperball rounds and taser rounds, Pruett emerged without a knife but with a self-inflicted wound on his neck.
Pruett was treated for his injury. .
He was taken into custody and booked for aggravated burglary and aggravated assault.
