Two Girard, KS residents suffer injuries following structure fire Sunday

Two individuals received injuries following a structure fire that took place on Sunday around 10 AM.

The Girard Fire, Crawford County District 4 Fire, Girard Police, and Crawford County EMS departments all responded to the residence of 300 E Prairie St. in Girard, KS.

One resident, 65-year-old Gayla Reinkens, was still inside the residence when authorities arrived. She was transported by Crawford County EMS to Girard Hospital.

39-year-old Samuel Reinkens, who also resided at the address, was outside when the fire started and sustained minor injuries. He was also taken to Girard Hospital and treated for his injuries.

The incident remains under investigation.
