Woman from Seneca killed in crash on Highway 43 Monday evening

A woman from Seneca was killed in a crash on Missouri Highway 43 at Rt. BB, four miles north of Seneca just before 5 p.m. Monday evening.

The Missouri State Highway patrol says the accident occurred when a vehicle driven by 35-year-old Stephine A. Langland of Seneca pulled into the path of a Kenworth Utility Truck driven by 39-year-old Jason E. Bonnow of Wentworth.

Killed was a passenger in Langland's SUV, 32-year-old Crystal Ward from Seneca. Langland received serious injuries and was flown to KU Medical Center in Kansas City.

Another passenger, a 14-year-old girl from Seneca, was taken to Freeman West in Joplin with minor injuries.

The Kenworth driver was not injured.
