Four from Carthage injured in Friday evening accident

Four people were injured as the result of an accident at the Fir Road Overpass at I-49 in Carthage around 8:25 Friday evening.
The Highway Patrol says a 2007 Mercury Milan driven by 20-year-old Cayden B. Garvin of Carthage crossed the centerline and hit a 2012 Jeep Wrangler driven by 24-year-old Dion W. Ward, also of Carthage.
The Ward vehicle overturned on a concrete barrier and went onto the Interstate.
Both vehicles were totaled.
Garvin suffered serious injuries. Ward and a passenger, 20 year old Erin M. Harris of Carthage, suffered minor injuries. A four-year-old boy in Ward’s vehicle - was moderately injured.
All four were transported to Mercy Hospital in Joplin for treatment.
