Joplin Airport welcomes United Airlines service

The Joplin Regional Airport welcomed the first flight into Joplin from United Airlines from Chicago.

According to the Airport Manager, Steve Stockam, “Thursday was the first day for the new United Airlines service to the Joplin Airport.   We are extremely excited about the new options for the community.”

Stockam told KZRG News that goals set for the service were met on the first day of service with over 90 percent of the seats sold on the flights both into Joplin and going to Chicago, Denver and Houston.

United’s contract with Joplin is for at least 3 years.
