Congress members asks Corps to focus on flooding

Midwestern members of Congress, both Republican and Democrat, are asking the U-S Army Corps of Engineers to make flood control its top priority in managing the Missouri River.

Northern Missouri Congressman Sam Graves is among those asking the Corps to follow the priority set out in the Water Resources Development Act passed by Congress. . .

Republican and Democratic members of Congress from Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, and Iowa have signed a letter formally requesting the Corps to make flood control its top priority. The move comes especially as the Corps repairs levees broken by the 2019 Missouri River flood.
