Former Webb City Cardinal Davidson drafted by the Vikings

There might be a few more Minnesota Vikings fans in the Four State Area as of Saturday.

That’s because former Webb City Cardinal Zach Davidson is now a member of that NFL team.

He was selected in the fifth round by the Vikings on Saturday in the 2021 NFL Draft.

Zach was a punter and tight end at Webb City High School.

After graduation, he played for the University Central Missouri, earning All-American honors as a punter and tight end.

He didn’t play at all last year due to the pandemic.

He's not the first Cardinal in recent years to move on to the NFL.  A teammate of Zach's, Tristan Colon-Castillo signed with Baltimore last year.
