Oklahoma Senate sends 3 anti-abortion bills to governor

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - The Oklahoma Senate has given final approval to several anti-abortion bills.

The Senate on Tuesday passed bills requiring physicians who perform abortions to be certified in obstetrics, adding performing abortions to the list of unprofessional conduct by doctors and prohibiting abortions if a fetal heartbeat is detected.

All three bills were passed mostly along party lines, with Democrats in opposition.

The measures now head to Republican Gov. Kevin Stitt, who has previously said he would sign any anti-abortion bills sent to him by the Legislature
