Oklahoma tax collections rise, led by oil and gas revenue

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Oklahoma state Treasurer Randy McDaniel says total tax collections by the state in March of $1.1 billion surpassed March 2020 collections by $35.1 million.

That's just the second time in the past year that monthly collections topped the prior year's total.

McDaniel said collections on oil and natural gas production rose by 15.1% to $90.8 million to lead to the increased collections that had slumped during the coronavirus pandemic.

The last time monthly receipts topped prior year collections was in July
