New Show Me ID app to aid retail cashiers in verifying ID authenticity.

A new app from the Missouri Division of Alcohol and Tobacco Control allows retail cashiers to verify authenticity of ID’s with their phones.

The “Show-Me ID” app, which will aid retail employees in checking IDs for proof of age before alcohol purchases, is now available.

The launch of the app is done through the partnership of The Division of Alcohol and Tobacco Control and MoDOT Highway Safety and Traffic Division.

The process works by scanning the ID with the camera on a mobile phone or tablet.

The app is available in the Apple App Store and Google Play; Users should search for “Show-Me ID”
