Missouri US Senator Roy Blunt says visitors to the US Capital should feel welcome and secure

Yesterday, Missouri US Senator Roy Blunt and Maryland Senator Chris Van Hollen introduced legislation that would prohibit federal funding for permanent fencing around the US Capital.

Senator Roy Blunt said in a news conference, "People from all over our country and all over the world visit here. They've been able to visit here with a sense of openness and welcomeness that we want them to continue to have. Certainly, we want people to have all security possible, but at the same time with all the freedom that they'd expect to have in a society or country committed to freedom."
